Brooke Hartley, Lic.Ac., M.Ac., M.OM

Brooke Hartley is a licensed practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in the state of Maryland. She received her Masters degree in Oriental Medicine from Maryland University of Integrative Health in Laurel, Maryland.

Brooke earned a Bachelors degree in Human Ecology from the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, where she lived for several years before moving to Maryland for graduate school. Her choice to pursue the study of Chinese Medicine came naturally. Learning about the natural world and how humans interact with it is the very foundation of Chinese Medicine. She recognized the power of Chinese Medicine to restore the balance of natural energy within a person, thereby harmonizing their relationship to the world and awakening the body's inherent wisdom and capacity to heal. Brooke was deeply inspired by her own acupuncturist when she sought treatment with her first pregnancy. This life-changing experience engendered her new career path.

As a furniture-maker and woodworker for 15 years, Brooke has a passion for using her hands to design and create structure. Brooke, her husband and her 2 young children recently relocated to northern Baltimore County, where they bought and are in the process of restoring an 1850's farmhouse.

Brooke treats many conditions with acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine including, but not limited to, Women's Health and Pediatrics.

Advanced post-graduate training: Evan Rabinowitz (former Director and Chair of Chinese Herbal Studies, MUIH), Heiner Fruehauf (founding professor, College of Classical Medicine, NUNM), Stephan Cowan (world-renowned pediatrician and acupuncturist), Thea Elija (former Director of Chinese Herbal Studies, TAI Sophia Institute and Chinese Herbal Studies Program at the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture), Ann Cecil-Sterman (international speaker and author of, Advanced Acupuncture: A Clinical Manual).
