Karin Holt, R.N., B.S.N., L.Ac., M.Ac.

Karin brings a deep background in nursing, women’s studies, neuroscience, yoga and massage therapy to her clinical acupuncture practice. Karin studied neuroscience and women’s studies at Macalester College and trained in nursing at Johns Hopkins University. Karin performed clinical nursing roles in oncology and cardiac care, as well as nursing research and patient care coordination. She graduated with her Masters degree in Acupuncture from Tai Sophia (now the Maryland University of Integrative Health) and has since dedicated herself to the benefits acupuncture can provide.

Karin had the experience of being diagnosed with lupus, yet discovered that all the symptoms she had learned to associate with lupus could be explained by the Chinese medical diagnosis of qi deficiency, which was most definitely a curable condition. Since maintaining regular acupuncture treatment, she has been symptom free. Karin is excited and passionate about sharing the role of Chinese medicine in maintaining health, preventing disease, and treating both acute and chronic conditions. Her experience as both a patient and caregiver gives her insight into how Chinese medicine can offer profound lasting benefits for life-long health.
